REANNZ and the National Library of New Zealand / Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa have teamed up to provide eduroam at Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK) libraries. This means that staff and students can now use eduroam at 165 public libraries.

Libraries that offer the APNK services span the country – from Northland to Southland. This roll-out will give thousands of students the ability to access the content and services they need on the go, increasing their mobility and digital access.

The move is part of a government initiative to reduce digital inequity and increase the safety and security of learners. The Ministry of Education funded the proof of concept and the pilot.

John Graham, Head of Engagement at REANNZ said of the development; “We are very proud of the work we have been doing with the Ministry of Education in supporting the government’s initiative to reduce digital inequity and the roll-out of eduroam in Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK) libraries has been very well received.”
